John was also an avid jogger and ran in many Marathons.
John was a professional photographer.
John photographed many subjects over many decades and developed his prints in his private darkroom.
His dedication, passion and talent is reflected in his diverse and vast portfolio.
John was a woodworking artisan.
John designed, built and sold custom southwest furniture that he produced in his private workshop.
John was a US Air Force Veteran.
John served his Country in the early 1950s at an airbase in Arizona.
John was a self-taught draftsman and engineer, working in aerospace for decades.
John was a health fanatic dating back to the 1960s when it was not in-fashion and when there were only a few health food stores around.
John was a pioneer and role-model in California's health food movement.
John was also a family man.
John raised three daughters with his first wife.
In later years, John was remarried to an eccentric artist that he performed with.
John was a lifelong learner.
When John was interested in something, he would buy books, research and immerse himself in the topic.
This was especially true with Magic. John had an extensive Magic library.

John loved animals, big and small, he was dedicated and bonded with his dog companions.
John also had some exotic pets over the years, mostly for his Magic shows.

While John could be serious and philosophical, he was also a goofball.
John was very silly.
Sometimes when John was outwardly silly, he was inwardly working out a comedy routine.
Always the entertainer!
John loved to entertain and make people laugh.
John was "one of a kind" and he will be greatly missed.
